FA CUP 3rd round, Millwall 3 Bradford 3, att: 5,470 (Bradford bring 1,093)

We could have won it, we could have lost it but in the end I'll take the draw

Bradford are doing well in league one and we are not doing well in the Championship. What's the score going to be, I have no idea. This was my thoughts before the game. This type of game can be hard to call but as per usual I expect Millwall to win and we would have done if we could stop conceding soft goals. We tried all through the game to get something from this game but all the hard work was undone on three occasions as Bradford took the lead, lost it, then took it back and then lost it again.

A chance to cheer but it didn't last

4th round draw and if we get through the replay at Bradford it's Chelsea at their place

Championship 2013/14 Season

Oh! what a season. Not one of our best

All football is eventful and that includes ours over the course of the season but for us it certainly has not been successful. A change of manager that up to this point has not produced a change in fortune as in winning a few more games, but I am always hopeful. We have some decent players who I know can win football games but the problem is, so does nearly everybody else. Ten games to go, 30 points up for grabs and I shall carry on doing the Blog thinking that we will stay up. When it's mathematically not possible to do that, then a new chapter begins. Whatever happens I will of course stick with my blogging as I am always proud to say "I support Millwall"

3/5/14 Oh! what a season, but we finish it the Millwall way

I was right to stick with them as they turned it around in the last eight games and finished the season in style. With the David Cameron press law taking up a lot of news print lately I have skipped over it because I found it very boring. I as a Millwall supporter get treated like muck by the press and the media in general, but I do not agree with politicians telling us what we can and cannot say and that was as far as my interest went, but today I read a piece of news print that said 'Ministers agreed to exclude small scale Blogs They do, do they? well bless them, who do they think they are? They have u-turned over small independent Bloggers such as I. That's not the main story here, the main story is that " it's incredible that they tried to push this through in the first place" Under their original proposed press law, this very Blog would come under the jackboot of the press-law police, and they say that UKIP are extremists.

HAVE YOUR SAY ON IMPORTANT FOOTBALL LEAGUE TOPICS

The Football League is giving more football fans the opportunity to join The Changing Room – an online community of football fans.

Launched in January 2013, the online resource offers fans the chance to share their opinions through discussion groups, forums and surveys on a number of topics affecting The Football League, its member clubs and fans.

Following a successful initial recruitment drive that saw thousands of fans sign up, there is now a further chance for supporters to join The Changing Room and become a part of the action, where they can have a say on all things Football League related.

Members of The Changing Room have not only had the opportunity to communicate directly with each other and The Football League, but have a chance to get rewarded for their efforts along the way by being entered into exclusive prize draws.

Last month saw 20 lucky members given a pair of tickets to watch Bradford City v Swansea City in the Capital One Cup Final at Wembley Stadium in return for giving their views and feedback on the day’s events.

Feedback from the panel is reviewed at regular intervals by senior management at The Football League to help identify what really matters to supporters so they can put measures in place to help improve the overall fan experience.

Richard Heaselgrave, Chief Commercial Officer at The Football League, said, “The Changing Room is a great way to give fans a real voice when it comes to issues affecting their own club, as well as The Football League in general.

“Following an extremely positive response with the initial launch, the feedback we have received so far has been invaluable in helping to shape how we approach important issues within The Football League. We are keen to engage even more fans to increase the online community further and widen the collective voice.”

Stats.Tables and the like=Soccerway

I am not that keen to stuff my Millwall Blog full of league tables and statistics, so I haven't. Doing that sort of thing is time consuming and you have to pay attention to detail. I mush prefer others to do that, so when Soccerway asked me to be their partner I said yes. If you click on the Soccerway link below it will take you to the Millwall page(s). There is a link at the bottom of their page(s) which will take you back here or to my other Millwall blog site 7 Windmills. I find their site useful for Millwall stuff at a glance and it certainly saves me a lot of writing and compiling etc. I have not scrutinised the stats, so not sure if it is 100% accurate but it seems ok.

The Luton game

I have many memories of that game and the journey there.

I remember standing on one foot because there wasn't any room to put the other one down, never been so squashed.

I had a stinking cold at the time and could not put me hand in my pocket to get my hankie because I coudn't move my arms.

I was glad when they burst out at the front, as I could breath again. I wasn't happy with what followed but I understand the reason for getting out of that crush. Perhaps if the police had a bit more savvy it could have been sorted in a better way. I went by car with three others to the game and enjoyed winding up the locals on the CB that I had on board (it was popular then). Some women CBer accused me of peeing in her garden I assured her it wasn't me as I had not got out of the car yet. I have never been back since.

Other football Blogs

I have had a look around the internet to see who else is doing Blog's about their football club and was hoping to exchange some banter but what I found did surprise me. I must admit I did not see them all so I cannot really say that none were like mine but the ones I found were unfriendly and they were based on a commercial outlook with adverts and links to main stream football sites and the like. I wanted to find a Stoke City Blog site so I could avoid copyright issues and ask for the use of a picture of their old stadium, Victoria Ground, so I could use it within my post on page 3 of this site. I found a Blog site which had pictures ,which said do not use any material from this Blog without permission from the Blog owner/publisher, which is fair enough. The problem was there was no method within this site to contact the owner/publisher, there was no comment section, no email, no nothing. All of the Blog sites that I found were like this and in my view very disappointing. If anybody knows different please let me know. I have tried within my Blogspot's to not just show my passion for Millwall FC but also a little bit of me, what other interests I have and what is around me where I live. I have a comments post on each Blogspot site and a email address within my profile so that people can contact me and perhaps contribute to the Blog's etc.

Constructive criticism is always welcome.

I am not sure if my way is the best way but I have not sold my soul to the advertising racket, I would though like to thank Google for provided the opportunity for me to have these Blogs and I do enjoy the hours of fun putting them together and showing them to the world and it's all for free

I am starting to find much more football Blog's that are a bit more 'friendly and have more of a independent feel about them.

The Millwall Way

Kenny Jackett said it "we didn't practice that in training but you know what players are like" .

You may ask, practice what?

Call it what you like "the long ball, the ball over the top or direct play" Kenny was talking after the home game against QPR where Millwall's direct attacking play resulted in a scorcher of a goal scored by Steve Morison. KJ's statement got me thinking and the first thing that come to me was "I hope they do practice it because it is a part of the game and is a useful style of play that can bring results". At Millwall I think it can come from the crowd in as much as fancy patterns of play and little triangles of pretty passing don't really go with the Millwall roar.

Simply put

The crowd urges Millwall on and at all costs the desire is to score a goal, why mess up, just get the ball in the back of the net.

Ambiguous reporting

The way that the media like to sex up anything and everything related to Millwall FC or it's fans has been noted by me and I presume others for years. I think it really come to light when the Cardiff fan fell out of the top tier of the way end at the Den and the BBC football league show that is late on tv Saturday night the same day of the match rather ambiguously reported the incident.

At 6 pm shortly after the game I looked on various news websites including the BBC and they all reported this incident with the Cardiff fan and by the middle of the evening it was common news across the country and elsewhere but apparently not on the BBC football league show at midnight. The presenter reported it as follows:

There has been a incident at the Den, not sure what it is but when we get news we will let you know, this statement in my opinion had the desired effect of sowing the seeds into people's mind of " Millwall fans mis-behaving again" and I think it was reported like this on purpose.

Referee's, I use the term lightly a bit of a moan

No one like us

Supporting Millwall over many years I believe gives me the right to comment about referee's but not just how competent they are but also how they referee a game when one of the teams happen to be Millwall FC .

The chicken type. Scared to death to ref at the Den, makes mistakes all night, easily intimidated, fails to give the Lions a blatant free kick, opposition break away and score and probably win the game.

This Games all about me type. Arrives at the Den the Mr Big and proceeds to make the rest of the night all about him. Gives the opposition the decisions all through the game and fails to spot a shirt pull which cost's us the game.

The Agent type. This type is on a mission, to make sure that Millwall don't do well. I see a lot of this watching Millwall and after a while you can smell it. We penned a song about it...
