The home side did have chances and hit the woodwork twice and Jordan Archer was producing his trademark double saves to keep fancied Walsall at bay
We have been rocking on the road and this is a excellent win and one of the best if not the best away win of the season. Sid Nelson was back in the side due to Mark Beevers suspension and we defended strong and it stopped Walsall from adding to their points total at the top of the table. It also made sure that we retained our play-off position and now a +9 goal difference. Mahion Romeo made his Millwall debut and he scored a cracker squeezed in-between two goals from Lee Gregory and they were all scored in the second half.
We finished the first half strongly and even though Walsall hit the bar the second half was all to play for.
That's 13 points from the last 15
Walsall were testing us as the second half got into its stride and they were looking to score. They were having play around the Lions goal and Ferguson done well to clear .On 61 minutes Gregory scored when Jed Wallace sent a ball in from the right and our leading goal scorer scored close in. Not to long after Sid Nelson made two proper old skool Millwall type blocks to keep the home side from scoring and cue Romeo who when picking up the ball from Jed Wallace run into the box and struck the ball low down and beat the Walsall keeper. 2-0 and there was still time for more and Gregory disappoint when he was served the ball from Shaun Williams and run in on goal before firing a shot home. The points were ours and the travelling Wall who had been loud and proud throughout the game made sure that the team were cheered and clapped off in away that they new this was a first class result and its going to be a very good journey home.
