4/10/2011 Ten Game round up or how I see it so far.

DWDLDLDLLL = 7 POINTS = NOT VERY GOOD but we and John G Berylson show our support for KJ

There has been a improvement since we lost to Derby County but this improvement has still resulted in two more defeats. On another day we could have nicked points from Watford and Burnley.
With a poll on the popular supporters forum site 'HOF' backing Kenny Jackett by a whopping 96%, I think proves that supporters have a lot of time for this man and we want him to stay.

I think it's time to dig out my old Lucky Blue Socks

I believe that things will turn around. The Millwall crowd will have a big part to play 'home and away'.
I think it's time to hunker down, show our support for KJ, roar on the Lions and let's be up there by Christmas. Making predictions in football can result in a bite on your arse and egg on your face, but I see us in about 10th or 11th spot by Christmas. A bit of a dream perhaps, but I think we have the manager, players and supporters to do it.

Millwall wandering home, maybe wondering where the next three points is coming from.

I suppose the long and short of it all is that our next ten games need to be a whole lot better in terms of results if we are going to get anywhere near my prediction. I will have to wait and see.

3/1/2012 Game 25 Away to Bristol City and it's a 1-0 L getting beat near the end of extra time was also painful, especially after all the chances we had.

Just four points after five games of this 3rd batch of ten games, perhaps the transfer window will bring a surprise. After just one goal in five games we need a striker or two.

A dream come true, Millwall winning three on the bounce,a Saturday night to get sloshed and a massive grin!!

That's us mathematically safe with 50 points-I would like to see us push-on and finish the season strong. Not sure the players could do it as they have worked bloody hard to avoid relegation and are probably thinking about holidays. I don't blame them.

The thoughts of relegation was long gone as the Lions finish seventeen points above the drop and one point above Palace. Not to sure what all the fuss was about as KJ and the team have shown their metal.

I didn't really want to do any thing special about this game, because after all it is "just another game"

But...............

With Clem from the Football League Show looking for a story, "the time has come".

I think I hate 12.30 kick off's, but I made it there in time. This all ticket game was preluded as expected with the normal media stuff that is said and written about why this clash between the Lions and the Hammers is such a fierce local derby. I think it as simple as "we dislike them and they dislike us"

OK I admit, it was a bit of a lazy statement written above, but as we know it is true for many supporters of both teams. In my book it is no more than a fierce local rivalry between two London football teams supporters who have a bit of a history of dislike for each other which has produced some nasty incidents which has in turn strengthened the dislike between them. These local rivalries in football are common place and some are of similar nature but maybe a bit more "tea and scones". For us, it's taking on the big guy, rubbing their noses in something shitty, kicking them in the nuts and watching them run.

For West Ham it's how dare they? upstarts, lower league shit, I wish they would leave us World Cup Winners alone.

Me......I dislike Palace just a little bit more.

A 16.000 crowd and even Rhino turned up for this one.

The 0-0 draw on reflection seems to be about right even though we could have won the game with some better finishing.

The "Edge"

Not to many for this Tuesday night 2nd round Carling Cup clash, just 3,443.  It was very comfy I could stretch out with my legs over the seat in front.

The away end was just that, away, most of the Morecambe fans stayed away. 68 turned up

A bit of extra news was the icing on the cake, West Ham lost at home to the same level of opposition in the same cup the next night.

Millwall and Eltham

A Millwall 1-0 win in the Carling Cup down in Plymouth did not distract Lions Supporters from doing the right thing, which is protecting local manors around South London from the rabble that is trying to destroy London. With a severe lack of Police on the ground, which is coupled with weak Government the situation needed some good old South London justice and that's what happened as a mob of  looters were driven out of Eltham High Street and along the road to Woolwich. Also Lions supporters who was gathered at the Bermondsey Blue for a drink was on hand to deter any looters who fancied their chances, I believe that none of the looting low-life turned up but went to rob a Tesco elsewhere, they must have got wind of the situation.
I have read written reports from Millwall people that were in Eltham and Bermondsey that both events are fact. Also heard that Charlton fans were with Millwall at Eltham and a few West Ham fans at Bermondsey.
Me I am sorry to say that I was like a politician   I was on holiday

 Darius Henderson signs on a two year deal from Sheffield United. With 84 goals scored in his professional career the 29 year old and  6'1" striker will shortly put on the Millwall shirt and as I have faith in KJ I am sure that he will score a few goals (hopefully lots) for the Lions.

Neil Harris goes to the seaside

Bomber signs for Southend United on a three year deal which is just the
security he needs as he approaches the latter years of his career. I for one
do not begrudge his move to the coast and I wish him well and I know that
many Millwall supporters feel the same.

We can say goodbye to the play off's.With the Lions producing a non-Lion display they didn't come close to getting anything out of this game. A bit of a anti-climax to the season really, roll on August.

On a bright note!

Before the game Tamika Mkandawire picks up the supporters (MSC) player of the year award, "well earn't".

 The players come back out on to the pitch a short while after the game to receive

 applause for a decent season back in the championship.  As I said before roll on August.

Cardiff supporter falls at the Den

19/3/2011 Millwall 3 Cardiff 3 att 15.039   Championship cracker

After a quiet first half  Cardiff score the opening goal and a Cardiff fan celebrates by being reckless and climbing on top of a safety rail located on the top tier of the away end where he falls onto the empty seats 15 feet below and sustains some nasty injuries. He was not bumped by fellow Cardiff supporters as it has been mentioned but fell due to stupidity. As he was falling he done a somersault and landed on his back across some empty chairs and then hit the concrete floor. He ends up in the back of an ambulance and is taken to Kings College Hospital a few miles away. Both sets of supporters clap as he leaves the ground on a stretcher.

Cardiff fan falls from top of yellow safety rail and is quickly under the care of the Millwall club doctor and paramedics.

A footnote to this is confusing me,  two Cardiff fans are allowed down to see him and one ends up getting stroppy and get's arrested and taken away??? "very odd"

The main bulk of the Cardiff fans decide not to take flying lessons.

UPDATE NEXT DAY...Just heard that he only broke three fingers.

 He should do the lottery because he is lucky, lucky, lucky.

All goals are worth the same amount, be it a ball that bounces in off  your backside or a fine header on the back post but there is always something special about a Danny Schofield goal. He does some good stuff on the pitch and scores goals, quality goals at that, tops him off.

Trouble at Birmingham City last night

I  hardly got to hear about this.....
Putting it bluntly, very nasty, major aggro and  flares fired in to the crowd.  Birmingham playing Aston Villa in the Carling cup and a major disturbance inside the ground. A tiny mention in the daily newspapers and not much else said about it elsewhere. I am sure you know what I am going to say..........

FACT:  If it had involved Millwall it would have been on the front page.

Josh McQuoid

Young Bournmouth star Josh McQuoid signs for the Wall and will play on loan to January 2011and then sign a permanent deal when the transfer window re-opens. The reported fee is about £400,000. This goal scoring youngster should add a bit more up front and hopefully it will turn out to be a excellent signing. It will be interesting to see if he gets game time up at Preston tomorrow. I can imagine that the Cherries fans are not happy.

9/11/10  I was freezing but a late goal by the "Wall" gave us a point and some warmth returned to my body.

Three years in the job and I'm happy. I much prefer our current position than where we was when KJ was giving the job.  I would like our away form to approve this season but overall I have faith in the man and the players. I am hoping for a result at Doncaster Rovers this Saturday.

Well it's Saturday night and I am not so happy. We couldn't hold on to a 1-0 lead.

As I see it so far---- season 2010-11

27/10/10  13 GAMES GONE

A good early start of winning games meant that the points we had gained resulted in a cushion that would help us stave off languishing at the bottom of the table when things did not go so well.
Sitting in ninth spot is amazing as we have not been at a best for a while and it has been reflected in the results. A few draws and a occasional win resulted in enough points to keep us clear of the bottom pack.  The excellent win at home against Derby compensated for the dismal display against Portsmouth and goes to prove that on their day the team can beat anybody and with some style. The Bristol City away game resulted in a fine 3-0 win for Millwall

A excellent win away to Bristol City was soured when Millwall supporters had their coaches attacked after the game and evidence that I have heard and read was that the organisation by the Police was incompetence of the highest degree.  For a account of the trouble as mentioned by Millwall fans please visit the Millwall Supporters Club site to read the full letter of complaint they sent to Avon Police.

125 years ago football history was in the making and Millwall Rovers was born. A year later they decided to do away with Rovers in their name and just become Millwall FC.

Seeing it's our anniversary year should we once again call ourselves Mllwall Rovers?

Na...I don't think so. Not to sure I could handle the crowd singing "we are Rovers, we are Rovers from the Den" or saying things like "cum on Rovers kick bawl up tuther end"

England dressing room incident

One of the blokes at work knows the England supporter who went in the England dressing room after the Algeria game. He is a Palace supporter who apparently was only looking for a toilet.
I kid you not.

What you won't find on my sites

Want you won't find on my sites is the crappy mobile phone two minute video footage of a Millwall tumble somewhere that populates You Tube .

I am not judge and jury but we all know that we attract the worse in the opposition including the Police and probably many of these "tumbles" could be that we were defending our own (the young fan at Huddersfield tells the tale), but unless you know the facts all these video's do is help to stereo-type me and everybody else that follows Millwall.

League one play off Wembley 2010

On my other Blogspot 7Windmills(see link) I have a " WEMBLEY 2010 PICTURE STORY" and a post called "THIS SEASON HAS ME ON THE EDGE OF MY NERVES" which captures the last five games of the season and the two play off games against Huddersfield and this 2010 league one final play off game against Swindon at Wembley. It was a wet, dull grey day but it was a wonderful day as the Millwall legions gathered at Wembley to watch the team put on a "solid" display that saw them wipe out all but a single chance that Swindon could muster.


My day started early.

I picked up my youngest son and three others and then a drive to the Old Kent Road.
A mini bus from the old Barnaby pub site in Ilderton Road just off the Old Kent Road at 11 am saw us at Wembley by mid day. The Swindon supporters coaches were clogging up the streets and some how our bus ended up in the Swindon coach park. The first thing that sprung to mind was "we gotta win" there was no way I was going back in that coach park if Swindon won, I couldn't have handled the mouth from them, anyway no probs as we parked up and strolled through them. A pee was the first agenda.

The weather was just how I wanted it dull and damp,  I remember last years play off final and the knackering heat and the disapointment of the attitude of everybody "it's a nice day out" sod that, hopefully this year we can put in a solid non stop performance.
Time for drinky poo's in a bar overlooking the stadium which only sold bottled beer at a over inflated price but a good atmosphere that cranked up as the Millwall fans packed in.

We had a look round and a burger was purchased down Wembley way which cost my son £6.50 and they tried to charge him a pound for the ketchup as you can imagine he told them to shove it. I took a few photo's.

Not to many Swindon fans coming along Wembley Way I can only presume that is because many of them come by coach. Another beer in the concourse inside the stadium and a pee and I am ready fo the game I join the rest of the mini bus crowd in the seats and we crank up the Mmmiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

The team was spot on with their attitude and application. the manager Kenny Jacket was tactically correct and earned this promotion with his footballing brain, knowledge of players, nous, guile and a steady hand and of course hard work....WELL DONE KJ!

After the game and the trophy celebration we made the walk back to the coach park and most of the Swindon coaches were gridlocked trying to leave the ground. Got chatting to some Swindon fans in a small mini-bus and reminded them that it may be a miserable journey back up the M4 but do take care. We were just about to leave the coach park when we spotted this Swindon old boy looking confused and wandering around saying his coach had left him behind, he looked about 75-80 years old. We watched him team up with the Swindon fans in the mini-bus who by this time apart from us was the last vehicle in the coach park and then we drove off.
Hope he got home OK

PS I must be one of a few fans who made the journey to Wembley from the Old Kent Road .

Following Millwall FC

Hello......I presume that I would be correct in saying that most people within the UK have their favourite team be it football or other, mine happens to be MIllwall FC the biggest "little club" in the world. I am sure that most people outside of Millwall have pre-conceived ideas of Millwall supporters and the club in general and they are entitled to it. When I am at the Den in the middle of the packed Cold Blow Lane roaring on the Lions I'm in the safest place in the world and that feels great.
When I was younger I used to travel away with the Lions regularly and have many a tale to tell and likewise traveling with thousands of Millwall supporters cannot be bettered and also that felt great. I will be traveling again when circumstance allows and money permitting and hopefully it should be once again a crack.
There's a school of thought on some Millwall forums that if you don't go to every away game you are not "proper Wall" I suppose in some way that can be believed but I don't think that statement is true. The opportunity to go to every away game is brilliant and to those that can I salute them one and all. Personally the life I lead does not allow me to go to Carlisle on a Tuesday night but I have my ear glued to the radio and I am pacing the house, biting my nails and feeling every emotion that to me is "proper Wall"
